Community Is About The People Who Accept Us For Who We Are

By

Community is not about what we are born into.

Community is not about our neighborhood, our town, or our country.

Community is about the people we choose to be with.

Sometimes our community is in our neighborhood, sometimes it is spread across the globe.

People align with others for many reasons. Sometimes it is about a set of common values.

Sometimes it is about a common belief system.

And sometimes it is because of a group of shared experiences that form strong emotional ties.

We often shy away from community because when a small group of people know us so well it is hard to hide.

Yet we keep coming back to community because it is where we find the most support.

It is also where we find the greatest comfort.

When we are with the people who accept us for who we are without judgement, we find a sense of peace and calm that is very hard to find.

We are all part of one community or another. If you are not feeling the support from the community you are with, it's time to find another one.

There are thousands upon thousands of communities out there. If you don't find the one that's right for you, create your own.
